The sling bags, tote bags and handags from our Borneo Collection are handwoven by the indigenous Dayak people of Borneo using split rattan from Central Kalimantan, one of the only areas in the world where rattan is harvested in a sustainable way to preserve the forest. Our artisan partners use centuries old weaving techniques, premium leather and batik print linings from Java to create these unique bags for stylish, socially conscious women. A renewed interest in Dayak weaving is providing a sustainable livelihood for these artisans while reviving centuries old weaving traditions.
